The Epson Home Cinema 3200 is a 4K HDR-compatible 3LCD home cinema projector with a nominal brightness of 2,900 lumens. Epson has long been a leader in projector technology, offering a wide range of projectors to suit almost any application. The Home Cinema 3200 is the latest addition to their Home Cinema Series line, which has been designed to deliver outstanding home theater performance at an affordable price.
The Home Cinema 3200 is a native HD projector, but it comes equipped with two 18Gbps HDMI 2.0 (HDCP 2.2) so it can accept 4K HDR content at up to 60 frames per second. Epson’s proven E-Shift technology delivers a brighter and sharper image than a traditional 1080P projector, and the Home Cinema 3200 also supports HDR10 and HLG content.
In addition to the Home Cinema 3200 , Epson has also introduced the Home Cinema 3800 and Home Cinema 3800 has a slightly higher brightness of 3,000 lumens and more than double the dynamic contrast. It also includes additional aspect ratio mode settings for compatibility with third-party anamorphic lenses, along with dual 10-watt rear speakers.
The Home Cinema 3200 walks a fine line between comfort, performance and value. While it doesn’t have some of the features typical of high-end home theater projectors like Power Zoom and Lens Shift, it still includes some desirable features like Active 3D, Bluetooth, and wireless networking.
While Epson offers quality solutions for dedicated home cinema systems, the Home Cinema 3200 is an excellent choice for someone who wants to enjoy high frame rate HDR movies and games in a family room or multi-purpose room.

The Epson Home Cinema 3200 is a 2900 lumen 4K HDR compatible 3LCD home cinema projector, which is more than enough to produce a good HDR image on screens up to 120” and an excellent SDR image on much larger screens.
Like all Epson 3LCD projectors, the Home Cinema 3200 produces an equal amount of color lumens as white lumens, ensuring bright, vibrant colors that are essential for good HDR picture quality.
Epson claims that when Auto Iris is enabled, the HC3200 has a dynamic contrast ratio of 40,000:1. While many high-end home theater projectors such as the Epson 6050UB can deliver much higher contrast, I would typically use the HC3200 in areas such as multipurpose rooms and family rooms where the benefits of extra contrast are outweighed by more ambient light.
The native resolution of the Home Cinema 3200 is 1080P (1920 x 1080). To deliver a bright and sharp image, the projector can accept 4K60p content and is equipped with Epson’s PRO-UHD chip, whose pixel changes the image to enhance it into 4K.
While the home theater system doesn’t include all the features of a high-end home theater projector, Epson has worked hard to include many performance features. This includes 18 Gbps HDMI 2.0 (HDCP 2.2) inputs to support 4K @ 60P HDR content from the latest streaming devices and game consoles. The Home Cinema 3200 also supports active 3D and aptX™ Bluetooth® for high-quality wireless audio streaming to Bluetooth-enabled speakers and/or headphones.
